Our Outpatient Treatment Programs

If you’re seeking addiction treatment in Las Vegas, NV our rehab facility offers a range of outpatient options to fit your needs, including:

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP):  This program provides comprehensive treatment 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Patients in PHP also meet with a medical and psychological provider weekly to ensure that every individual receives the right care. Expect to attend structured treatment sessions for about 25-30 hours per week.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): The IOP offers structured support with more flexibility than PHP.  Treatment involves 3-hour sessions, typically 3 days a week of the patient’s choice of days. This flexibility of programming enables you to manage other responsibilities alongside your recovery.

In addition to our first-in-class outpatient treatment options, Desert Hope also offers sober living in Las Vegas for patients who are attending our outpatient program.

How do I get admitted to a Desert Hope Outpatient Treatment program?
Individuals who wish to participate in our outpatient programs (IOP or PHP) are scheduled like any other admissions. However, we try to ensure that individuals entering our outpatient treatment do so within 24 hours of their first sessions. In some cases, treatment can begin the same day that a person comes to Desert Hope.
Does Desert Hope Outpatient accept health insurance?
Yes, Desert Hope accepts health insurance for outpatient programs and is in-network with several providers, including Aetna, Cigna, and Ambetter insurances.
Can anyone enter outpatient addiction treatment?

Outpatient addiction treatment offers flexibility and support, but it's important to understand when a higher level of care is necessary. In the following situations, inpatient care provides certain advantages:

  • Ongoing use of certain substances: If you're actively using alcohol, benzodiazepines, sedatives, or opioids, inpatient treatment offers safe, medically supervised detox.
  • Need for around-the-clock support: Inpatient programs provide 24/7 structure and monitoring, which may be crucial during the initial stages of recovery.
After detox, your treatment team will help you determine the next best step. This could involve a transition to residential treatment or an appropriate outpatient program tailored to your needs.
When is admission to outpatient treatment recommended?

Addiction recovery isn't one-size-fits-all. Outpatient treatment programs can be a great fit for individuals who have completed medical detox or inpatient treatment, need flexibility in their schedule to maintain work, family, or school commitments. Additionally, outpatient treatment may be an appropriate choice for individuals who have challenges with stimulants, such as cocaine, hallucinogens, or inhalants.

Important Note: The specific program that's right for you depends on your individual needs and a thorough assessment by a qualified professional.

Do I need to abstain from drugs and alcohol to attend outpatient treatment?

Does Desert Hope Outpatient offer therapy during treatment?

Yes. Desert Hope outpatient clients will have access to therapy in multiple formats.Desert Hope outpatient clients will have access to therapy in multiple formats.

  • Individual Therapy: You’ll be assigned a primary therapist to work with while you’re in the program. Throughout your program stay, you will meet regularly to discuss your rehabilitation progress, recovery plan, aftercare goals, issues, and concerns. Your primary therapist will meet with you, your partner, and family members (with your consent) throughout your treatment along with other members of our multidisciplinary staff to help you on your way to recovery.
  • Group Therapy: Clients attend group therapy during treatment, including process groups, targeted addiction-themed group discussions, recovery skills building groups, and optional 12-step groups. Many of the therapies conducted at Desert Hope Outpatient Center will be conducted in a peer group setting, which has been shown to help people in recovery form supportive relationships with others who share their substance abuse histories (SAMHSA, Treatment Improvement Protocol 41). Process groups will vary in topic, but will address the concerns, struggles and challenges of living with substance addiction and maintaining sobriety.
  • Family Therapy: We recommend family sessions for all IOP and OP clients. The reality is, family members are almost always involved and touched by substance addiction both before and after your recovery. When you arrive, we’ll talk with you about whether your family members would be open to attending therapy onsite at Desert Hope Outpatient Center or via tele-therapy sessions, using webcams or other conferencing technology. Throughout your treatment, you and your family will engage in individualized family therapy as appropriate and as indicated by the treatment plan.
