Henderson, which is located in Clark County, Nevada, is witnessing first hand the impacts of drug and alcohol misuse just as most other towns and cities in the United States are. Between January 2021 and January 2022, Clark County experienced an 8% increase in drug-related emergency department visits.5 In fact, approximately 1,622 people attempted suicide via substance misuse, the most common way of attempting suicide in the state.2 Additionally, 18.2% of Nevadans reported using marijuana to get high in 2021, while 2.8% reported using illicit substances.2 Drug-related death rates in the state soared at 29.3 people per every 100,000 people, while 10.2% of Nevadans ages 12+ had an alcohol use disorder in 2021.2
