Addiction Talk: Why Movement Is Medicine

On the latest episode of AAC’s Addiction Talk, host Joy Sutton interviews Aaron Williamson, who has worked as an actor, Hollywood stuntman, and personal trainer to celebrities like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron.

As a boy, Aaron turned to drugs to cope with the pain of his parents’ divorce. By the time he was in seventh grade, he had already survived an overdose. His downward spiral continued until he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. There, Aaron discovered something that would change his life forever: the power of fitness.

Eventually, through sheer determination (and one bicep curl at a time!), Aaron rebuilt his body, mind, and spirit.

Here, he shares the three most important things a person needs to stay sober and how he’s using his experience to help other Veterans overcome addiction and transform their lives.
