Blaise Schafer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) with more than a decade of experience helping individuals and families navigate addiction, trauma, co-occurring mental health disorders, and other complex life challenges. As a Counselor III at Desert Hope Outpatient, he provides compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers patients to build lasting recovery and improve their overall quality of life.
Blaise has worked in both residential and outpatient treatment settings, where he has conducted assessments, facilitated individual and group therapy, developed personalized treatment plans, and supported clients through every stage of the recovery process. He has extensive experience working with individuals facing addiction, trauma, justice-system involvement, housing instability, and barriers to accessing care.
His clinical approach is practical, collaborative, and person-centered. Blaise incorporates evidence-based techniques, including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), relapse prevention strategies, and strengths-based treatment planning to help patients identify their goals, build resilience, and make meaningful progress at a pace that works for them.
As part of Desert Hope’s First Responder Lifeline, Blaise also provides specialized support for firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS professionals, dispatchers, corrections personnel, and other first responders navigating trauma, addiction, and co-occurring mental health concerns.
Blaise believes everyone deserves care that is compassionate, practical, and free from judgment. He values creating a therapeutic environment where patients feel understood, recognized for their strengths, and supported in taking realistic steps toward recovery. He also believes that humor, authenticity, and genuine conversation can help build trust and create meaningful therapeutic relationships.
