Treatment During a Pandemic | Desert Hope Treatment Center

Uncertainty and fear have many wondering what to do as we navigate through the constant changes and ups and downs we all find ourselves in within this pandemic. Many may feel emotionally paralyzed or simply fear taking action in areas of our lives  that we should. Battling a disease such as alcohol or drug addiction shouldn’t be taken lightly. And although the concern with COVID is warranted, it shouldn’t keep anyone who is wanting help for their addiction from getting the help that they need.

Desert Hope Treatment Center provides exceptional treatment in a safe environment so that patients can get the care they need without letting their fear of COVID hinder their progress. American Addiction Centers (AAC) is a nationwide leader in addiction treatment and is the parent company of Desert Hope located Las Vegas, Nevada. Desert Hope offers telehealth services, residential treatment, intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization program (PHP), outpatient program, and even a sober living facility for individuals who need a place to be after they complete treatment.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Desert Hope Treatment Center makes both the patient’s and staff’s health a priority. Although we want to make sure we are helping as many individuals who are struggling with alcohol or drug addiction, we want to make sure that we are doing it in as safe of a way as possible as the ongoing threat of COVID-19 is still present. We follow the recommendations set forth by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Our safety protocols include:

  • Incoming patients are tested for COVID. We are HIPAA compliant and 100% confidential. Individuals testing positive for the coronavirus will not be admitted.
  • Because we need to know about an individual’s recent interactions and activities, individuals are asked about their travel history, their contact with anyone who has traveled in areas of concern, and any possible exposure.
  • Staff who may have been exposed to the coronavirus are asked to self-isolate for 14 days from the point of exposure. If they don’t experience symptoms during this two-week period of time, they may return to work.
  • COVID vaccinations are not required to receive treatment. However, individuals should bring their vaccination card and present them at the time of admission if they have been vaccinated.
  • There is a deep cleaning of the facility daily and throughout each day. Social distancing and washing hands are requested. Only essential personnel (patients and staff) are permitted to enter the facility.
  • Specialized treatment. AAC provides therapists trained in the effects of anxiety connected to the coronavirus.

The pandemic is going to last as long as it does. We all have to figure out a way to navigate through the new landscape of our lives so that we can not only stay safe, but also get what we need in order to thrive. Addictions to drugs or alcohol are serious and may require immediate attention. Desert Hope Treatment Center is here to help. Desert Hope is here to walk along the road towards a life of sobriety for its patients. You’re never alone. Help is within reach.
