The stress and trauma experienced by our veterans and first responders is unique to these populations and needs to be treated with individualized programming meeting the person where they are. Mental health conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety are challenges consistent with the exposure to the job, all of which can significantly increase the risk for substance use disorders. That’s why Desert Hope Treatment Center developed the Salute to Recovery program.
Salute to Recovery is an innovative approach to the treatment of substance use disorders that is customized to meet the unique needs of veterans and domestic first responders. From battlefield trauma to the horrors of street crime or firefighting, the same experiences that contributed to problematic substance use can bind these individuals together in recovery. Through an exclusive treatment program at Desert Hope, Salute to Recovery participants receive the individualized care, therapy, medical interventions, and support needed to sustain long-term recovery.
Salute to Recovery at Desert Hope welcomes veterans of all branches of the armed forces, as well as current and retired first responders. We are currently serving:
- United States Military Veterans
- Law Enforcement Officers
- Emergency Medical Services Providers
- Dispatchers and Emergency Communications Personnel
- Correctional Officers/Probation-Parole Officers
Our licensed therapists and medical staff practice a full continuum of care that reduces stigma, breaks down barriers, and empowers patients to achieve a successful, meaningful path in life—whether that means returning to service, re-integrating into civilian life, finishing their education, or starting down a completely new career path.
