Las Vegas Outpatient Rehab and Addiction Treatment Programs
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The Desert Hope IOP program provides planned and structured outpatient substance addiction treatment services of at least three (3) hours per day and up to six (6) days per week, although some patients may need to attend less often. We provide a range of multidisciplinary treatment that includes individual, family, and group therapy. In addition, we offer psychoeducational and didactic training, and ancillary services such as medication monitoring and other adjunctive therapies.
IOP clients do not require extensive medical monitoring and typically do not experience acute medical symptoms. IOP treatment is offered as a stand-alone level of care or a transitional level of care in which clients are often those persons who want to continue their recovery work as the next step in their process of recovery. Some individuals see IOP treatment as another part of care following residential treatment and an effective component of their continuum of care.
Outpatient Program (OP)
Like our IOP program, Desert Hope Outpatient Center’s OP addiction treatment provides the same AAC excellence in care utilizing a research-based, dual diagnosis treatment curriculum.
Both of our IOP and OP programs works under the same AAC philosophy of treating the whole person and that every client can attain believable hope – and recovery for life. Our center addresses both the client’s substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorder (if applicable). Our clients play an important role in their treatment decisions and collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to determine treatment objectives that are realistic and attainable for long-term recovery. Since each individual entering our doors possesses a unique experience of substance addiction, the client, his/her primary therapy therapist, and other clinicians comprising the treatment team take into consideration many factors in his/her life and his/her treatment plan is tailored accordingly.

Although IOP/OP clients will vary according to clinical need and treatment plan, IOP clients are typically scheduled to attend three (3) consecutive hours of onsite treatment daily 3–4 days per week. OP clients are typically scheduled to attend up to six (6) days as indicated by the treatment plan.
Treatment for both IOP/OP programs will be provided six (6) days per week in morning and evening sessions. Treatment session blocks for IOP consist of a minimum of three (3) hours, depending on the client’s individual treatment plan. Treatment hours are determined on an individual client basis after consultation with primary therapist and employer, if applicable. Hours of operation for Desert Hope Outpatient Center are 7:00AM – 9:00PM, PST Monday through Saturday.
Co-occurring Disorder Treatment
Our IOP/OP treatment programs are designed for individuals with substance addictions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our dual diagnosis curriculum’s focus is to help the IOP/OP client develop coping and recovery skills through an individualized aftercare plan that addresses both the addiction and co-occurring disease. Addiction research by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) on dual diagnosis treatment indicates that for some clients, there is a greater chance they will maintain sobriety when both diseases are addressed (SAMHSA). Greater lengths of abstinence and reduction in mental health symptoms have been reported following dual diagnosis treatment (SAMHSA). By anticipating effective strategies for their future sobriety and mental health challenges, clients leave IOP/OP treatment with a specific plan to effectively integrate back into their home and community environments.
