Can weed cause a heart attack?

Despite an increasingly positive public perception of the drug in terms of safety, a number of adverse cardiac events have been reported in association with cannabis use including aberrant heart rhythms (e.g., atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia), acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), and sudden cardiac death.
